Fire & Hydrocarbon Gas Detection System
Client: Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC)
Place: Uran

We have recently implemented a turnkey project covering supply, installation, integration and commissioning of Fire And Gas Detection System for oil and gas processing complex of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd., at Uran. The project was completed a month ahead of schedule. We supplied these systems with technical backup from M/s. Detector Electronics Corporation, USA. We imported major equipments from Detector Electronics Corporation. The control system design & Engg was done by Detector Electronics and the site engg, supply of indigenous items/equipments etc was carried out by us to put together a complete system, as per clients need. Our specialized team of Engineers installed and integrated this system to the existing DCS system of our client. These services were again part of the turnkey contract. The site acceptance of the Project was completed on 6th August 2002.

System Design and Functions

The Fire and Gas Detection System as installed consists of a main control panel, operator interface station, IR hydrocarbon gas detectors (180 Nos.), UV/IR fire detectors (16 Nos.), and audible/visual alarms.. In the event of an alarm by the fire and gas detectors or from the existing fire and gas systems (As a part of system integration), the system sounds the alarm signals and activates the outputs to existing sprinkler systems (Also as a part of system integration). The fire and gas detection system status is available on the control panel, OIS & also on the existing DCS systems.

Operator Interface Station

The main function of the Eagle Operator Interface Station is to display a variety of system status information. Custom graphic screens are created to display events, real-time status of all events that are currently active, gateway information, and programmable device information.
